TANGO-1

The impact of chemical modification of carbon nanostructures on the electromagnetic properties of composites and hybrid materials

Plakat_kor1

Funding: 1 226 500, 00 PLN

Duration: 1 July 2015 – 30 June 2018

Partners:

  1. Institute of Security Technologies MORATEX
  2. Miltary Institute of Armament Technology

Abstract:

The aim of the project is to provide materials based on functionalized carbon nanostructures as components of the products with possibly the best properties in terms of absorption and/or scattering of electromagnetic radiation. Those properties will be designed for the future applications in masking of objects, particularly in the microwave absorbers. Preliminary studies indicate that carbon nanostructures enhance electromagnetic shielding in a wide range of frequencies. The Concept Phase of the project is devoted to analysis of the market towards demand for the proposed solutions whereas in the R&D Phase, a variety of textile/non-textile hybrid/composite materials will be studied in the light of critical mechanical and electromagnetic properties.
